Molly (in So. Cal.)
(The following information was supplied by Tia Hewlett.)
UPDATE: Molly,(in So. Cal.), has been adopted as of 4/25/08
Molly is a 4 year old spayed female, who is currently being fostered after being given up by a family who had her given to them in the past year. In that setting, she spent long hours alone with another dog, yet without other company, and was groomed like a Schnauzer,(Ugghh).
She is house-broken, obeys sit and down commands, is excellent on a leash,(does not pull),is alert to all strange sounds, energetic, and very friendly. She has an unusual ability to stand up on her hind paws to investigate everything and is eager to eat, (and was fed too much!).
In her foster setting, she has joined the pack with another male Kerry, and is learning how to be part of a human and Kerry pack, yet not in charge. Like other rescues we have seen, she shows evidence of past harsh treatment, and was recently brutally attacked by a pack of dogs and received extensive vet care to rehabilitate wounds. She is completely healed, and shows no health issues.
Brought to her foster location, Molly was friendly, yet not trusting and snappish when handled without sensitivity. With firm and loving voice correction plus isolation over just 3 weeks time, she is learning quickly and is discovering how to trust.
Molly will make an excellent addition to a home, with or without another dog, who can give her attention, care, love, and dog-appropriate discipline. She is not to be in a home with small children, however teenagers are ok. Please contact either Tia Hewlett, (rescue coordinator),
