Performance Newsletter for March 2008
By Jane Eno
By a fortunate turn of events, I was on vacation during the time I would have normally sent in my performance newsletter. This means I got a chance to include the information about our newest MACH Kerry Blue Terrier. Not only is Riley only the third Kerry to get a MACH (Master Agility Champion), but he is only the 2nd to have two champion level titles. He wowed us all at Montgomery in 2007 by receiving an AOM from the Veterans class – showing that the active lifestyle and fantastic conditioning of an agility dog can be recognized and rewarded in the breed ring.
I have pulled out two quotes from the emails to include in this newsletter, which sum up the excitement around this event.
From Eileen Andrade
I just heard from Maggie Hall - after the Nationals in Oklahoma she went on to Texas for three days of agility trials before heading home next week. Riley did it! He went MACH at the Dalmatian Club of North Texas Agility Trial today. This is a new trial and Riley is their first ever MACH. He placed 4th in Standard, 1st in Jumpers and garnered another 26 speed points,(which he didn't need for this MACH - he's already got a healthy start on speed points for his MACH2). He ran clean and true and Maggie is thrilled. We'll celebrate when they get home.
From Eve Fishell
Finally I have a chance to congratulate them on this major achievement. Maggie is an excellent agility handler and Riley is a wonderful dog - together they make a great team. Thanks to my wintering in California the last 2 years, I was lucky to get to know Maggie, Riley and Birdie well and believe me, it is a pleasure and privilege to know them.
Riley - CH MACH Kallehan's Blue Moon Rising XF is the 3rd Kerry to get the prestigious MACH title.
Gabby - MACH2 Keriland's Talk About Town NF was the first, followed by
Daisy -CH MACH Kerigolf's Flower Power RN NF.
Riley is also the first Kerry to get the Open FAST and Excellent FAST titles in Agility (OF & XF).
BRAGS
From Betty Richardson:
I'm pleased to report that Riley earned both his AX (Excellent Standard) and XF (Excellent FAST) titles at the Front Range Agility Association of Denver trial in Castle Rock, CO March 7-9.
From Susan Coliton
My March brag is Eidenbock's Jamison Lee, CD, RAE-3 took his 3rd leg towards his RAE-4 last weekend at Petaluma, Ca., in the Countrywide Dog Training Club under Judge, Cathy Dutra. He scored a respectable 91 in ex. b, and a 98-2nd place by time in adv. b. This was his first show of 2008.
Our next show will be the Merced, Ca., 4 day show the first weekend of April,(Sierra-Tuolleme Kennel Club & Yosemite Kennel Club).
