The Board of Governors of the United States Kerry Blue Terrier Club voted to make an initial $200 contribution to the legal fund established to overturn the Louisville law which infringes on the rights of breeders of pure bred dogs.
“This nearly 100 page ordinance violates or threatens to violate the rights of all animal owners in Louisville,” per the suit filed in Jefferson County Circuit Court on March 27th. Three of the leading law firms in Kentucky are representing the plaintiffs. They seek “declaratory and injunctive relief,” which would prevent Louisville/Jefferson County Metro government from enforcing the ordinance.
Defeating this ordinance on constitutional grounds could play a major role in eliminating such laws on a national basis.
