Kerry Blue Terrier Performance Newsletter
August 2006
By Jane Eno
At last the newsletter is ready! I was waiting in anticipation of the publication for the obedience trial premium being held the week before the Montgomery County All Terrier show in October. If you have not yet signed up to compete in Rally on Wednesday or Obedience on Thursday, get your entry in soon. Closing date is September 13th for Rally and September 14th for Obedience. This year, unfortunately, the trial has to be all breed, but the majority of dogs showing should be from the terrier group. Any stragglers from other groups might be in for a rude awakening when they have to compete against our very talented terriers.
You can download the premium by clicking on the link below.
Premium List
I hope we’ll see everyone there this year. There is a fantastic prize list for Kerry Blue Terriers in obedience and rally this year. Hopefully we’ll have lots of qualifiers to bring home the loot.
Thinking of Montgomery, I’ve already put in my order for a copy of Fred Fishell’s wonderful book of cartoons, all about our Kerry Blue Terriers competing in conformation, obedience and agility. Don’t forget to orders yours.
The 2005 First & Foremost points have been calculated for all levels, and the top Kerry Blue Terriers for this year are as follows:
Tantara’s Cosmic Phoenix
E Gansfuss 261
Primrose Jessie James
J Eno 137
Garryowen’s Smarty Pants
V Barishek 51
Tontine’s Once In A Blue Moon
J Porter 12
CH Casey’s Rae Of Sunshine
L Frankland/L Croley 9
Wildside’s Quiet Man
P Sontag/W Sontag 6
Tantara’s Cosmic Phoenix was also number 1 Terrier! This fantastic achievement is probably a first for our breed. A hearty congratulations to owner, Evelyn Gansfuss and breeder, Eve Fishell. It shows that the Kerry Blue Terrier is a wonderfully versatile and talented breed.
On an agility note, we had another Kerry moment in history! Our first MACH 2 Kerry. See the brags below. Gabby, the first MACH Kerry, went and did it again.
